What We Are Thankful For

 In Uncategorized

EACH YEAR, THANKSGIVING is a wonderful time for us all to reflect on all the things we’re grateful for in our lives, and that’s exactly what we’ve done at our practice. Here are some of the things a few of our team members feel particularly grateful for this Thanksgiving season.

What We’re Most Thankful For

Leslie Thomas, Chief of Operations

There are so many things in life to be thankful for, I will highlight a few things that come to mind. I am thankful to be in good health and have healthy, energetic children. I am thankful for my sweet husband who provides so much for our family. With him we know that we are loved and protected. He teaches our children what is looks like to love your spouse and put family first. I will always be thankful for Dr. Mak, he took a chance on an annoying, determined 21 year old and here we are 18 years later. He is selfless and provides an environment that we all appreciate. We come to work knowing our best friends are here cheering us on in life. He loves us and our families as much as we love him. Last but not least I am thankful for my mom and mother in law. They help so much! It would be impossible to be a working mother and keep up with everything without them.

Mallory Dues, Hygienist

There are so many things to be thankful for, but to pick one, I would have to sum it up as my SUPPORT system. That includes so many people, but that is because it takes a wonderful group of friends and family to rally around you to make sure life goes smoothly. To start, I can not be more thankful for my family. My husband, Tim,  who works so hard for us and allows me to focus on just being the best mom I can be for our two children. Since I am a full time working mother, he knows how important and limited my time is with Maple (6) and Baker (1). He allows me to focus on them each evening without the worry of housework and chores. Second, my Mother, who is always willing to be there for the kids and help us out. Staying home with them on sick days, picking them up from school, movie nights and just overall being a huge support person in helping to raise our kids. There is absolutely no way we could do this parenting gig without her. She is the glue that is keeping our lives all together. Lastly, my close friends and work family. They truly just bring me the happiness that I need to enjoy each day. The positivity that they bring to my life is something that I would never want to do without. They make each day better than the last. I have been blessed with some of the best people you can find, and I think every day just how lucky I am to have them.

Kristi Vanover, Assistant

What I’m most thankful for:
My family. For being supportive in any decisions I make (good or bad) and giving me their opinion even when I don’t ask for it. Always there to annoy me to the max but also makes me smile and laugh the most. My work family. Everyday I come to work, I never dread it. I get to work with some of the most amazing people and they know how to make any situation as fun and stress free as it can be. My friends. They are always forcing me out of my comfort zone and creating a ruckus no matter where we are. Whenever things aren’t going my way, they are right there to reel me back into reality and put me in my place.

Sierra Powers, Office Manager

It’s so hard to list all of the things and people I am thankful for in life in just one paragraph. I have an amazing family and group of friends. I love all of them! My mom- She has always been there to see me through anything I have ever encountered. She always goes above and beyond for everyone.. especially for my son and I. I wouldn’t be able to do life without her guidance and love. Mamaw Sharon for her willingness to help with anything I need. I am thankful for an amazing boss who provides a fun laid back work environment and for my work family. Going to work everyday to spend time with people you actually enjoy is definitely something to be thankful for. My best friend, Kristyn- We have gone through so many seasons of life together and I know she will always be there to support me or set me straight. I can’t thank her enough for loving me through everything. Michelle and Devan who are more like family than friends and always help when I need anything. I am thankful for my fiance’, Zac. He is always on my team and works so hard everyday to support our family. He is so supportive and never fails to let me know how loved I am. I am thankful for a happy healthy perfect little baby boy, Zeke, who made me a momma. He is my motivation and has taught me so much about life in such a short amount of time. My sisters and Step mom Val. I am thankful for a God who provides, forgives and loves unconditionally. I am blessed.
